Brass Cap Opal Glass Flush Mount

A brushed brass saucer cap with an opal glass diffuser nestled underneath it, 35 cm across and 16 cm deep. The brass is the part you see from a distance, a clean domed disc against the ceiling, and the glass is the part that does the work, hiding the bulb and spreading the light evenly across the room below.

Brushed brass is the right finish for this shape because it catches light along the curve without going mirror-bright, so the cap reads as a solid form rather than a reflection. It suits a hallway, a landing, an entrance or a small bedroom, all of them rooms where a pendant would be in the way and where you look directly up at the fitting as you pass under it. In an older house the brass sits naturally with timber, panelling and warm paint colours; in a modern flat it gives one warm element against white walls. A run of two or three along a corridor makes the whole space feel deliberate.

Brass finishes are applied by hand and may vary slightly, and brushed brass will mellow with age. Bulb is not included. Intended for indoor use in dry locations only. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the fitting should not be installed where it would be exposed to direct water.
