Jute Rope Fringe Tassel Pendant Light

Hand-spun jute rope gives this pendant its structure and its rugged, earthy texture; thick cotton fringe gives it movement. The two together are what make it work. The rope holds a firm shape, so the fitting has real form rather than hanging limp, and the fringe softens the outline and shifts slightly in the air, which is something no rigid shade can do.

Three silhouettes are offered across eight sizes. Type A is the shallow drum, from 30 by 25 cm up to 50 by 27 cm, the most versatile of the three and the easiest to use in multiples. Type B is deeper and more dramatic at 30 by 37 cm and 40 by 47 cm, and suits a stairwell or a low-hung position over a table. Type C is the widest and flattest, from 40 by 22 cm to 60 by 26 cm, and is the one to choose over a dining table or an island where you need spread without depth. All three sit naturally in coastal, boho and Mediterranean rooms, and against white plaster, linen and pale timber they carry a room on their own.

Jute and cotton are natural fibres, so colour and texture vary between pieces and the fringe may settle after hanging. Bulb is not included. Use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the rope and fringe. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
