A domed metal light housing rather than a flat plate, which is the detail that gives this fixture its Scandinavian character. A flat diffuser reads as an appliance panel; a dome reads as a shade. Combined with gently curved wood-finish blades, the whole fan reads as a designed object rather than as ventilation with a lamp attached to it.
Glare-free is the claim on the light and it follows from the housing. Because the dome holds the source well above its own rim, nothing bright is visible at eye level from anywhere in the room, and what reaches you is reflected off the inside of the dome rather than coming straight from the chip. Under a running fan that difference is noticeable.
Four colourways are offered, green, black, white and grey, at two spans, 106 cm and 120 cm, all with a remote. Green is the only real colour choice; the other three are neutrals. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight and movement of a fan. Indoor use only; wipe dry and check the fixings periodically, especially in the first weeks.
