Two layers of precisely tucked pleated fabric form a wavy drum canopy, one tier set above the other so the shade opens outwards like a lotus. The pleats are tucked rather than gathered, which keeps every fold sharp, and the two tiers give the piece a depth and a rhythm that a single-layer shade cannot achieve.
It is a floral idea handled with restraint, which is what makes it work in a Japandi or minimalist room rather than only in a decorative one. There is no colour, no pattern and no trim; the movement in the piece comes entirely from the geometry of the folds and the way light behaves as it passes through two overlapping layers of fabric. Hung over a dining table it becomes the focal point of the room and gives an exceptionally soft, shadowless light across the table. Fabric is pleated and tucked by hand, so the fall of the layers varies between pieces and may settle after hanging. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool, keep it clear of the fabric and do not fit a high-wattage bulb. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
