Elliptical Wood and Metal Ceiling Light

Wood and metal in a shallow elliptical fitting, with a decorative wooden element set into the face. At only 14 cm deep it sits close to the ceiling, and the ellipse rather than a circle is what gives it its character: an oval reads as a deliberate geometric choice where a round fitting reads as a default.

Two sizes and three colours are offered. At 35 by 14 cm it works in a bedroom, a hallway, a landing or a study, and looks good in a run of two or three along a corridor. At 65 by 14 cm it is wide enough to be the main light in a living room or over a dining table. White keeps the fitting quiet and reflects the most light; grey is cooler and more urban; green is the confident option, giving a plain room one clear point of colour. In every version the wood detail warms the metal and stops the fitting from reading as purely functional, which is what separates it from a plain ceiling panel.

Wood is a natural material, so grain and tone vary between pieces. Intended for indoor use in dry locations only. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting in the larger size.
