Milk Glass Globe Wall Sconce

A white milk glass globe on a slim wall mount, in the plainest possible mid-century form. There is nothing to it beyond the sphere and the arm, and that restraint is what makes it useful: it lights a wall properly and it never competes with anything else in the room.

Milk glass is the practical part. It conceals the bulb completely and turns the globe into an even ball of soft light with no bright point anywhere on it, which matters most at close range. That makes this a particularly good sconce for a dressing table, where light needs to reach a face without glare, and for a bedside, where you look towards the fitting from a low angle. Mounted in a pair either side of a mirror, a bed or a fireplace it reads as balanced and deliberate; in a run of three along a hallway it gives a corridor rhythm without taking up any floor space. The white globe also sets off gold accents in a room particularly well.

Glass is finished individually, so slight variation in tone is normal. Bulb is not included. Mount securely into a suitable wall fixing. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and where the fitting is used near a bathroom it must be installed only in a position permitted by the wiring regulations in your country.
