Solid Wood Starburst Chandelier

The sputnik starburst rebuilt in genuine solid wood rather than metal. It is a small substitution that changes everything: the same radiating geometry that reads as cold and atomic in polished brass becomes warm and craft-made in timber, so the fitting keeps the drama of the shape without the hardness that usually comes with it.

Two sizes and two woods are offered. At 52 cm it works over a dining table, in a bedroom or in a mid-sized living room. At 72 cm it is a genuine centrepiece and needs a large room or an entrance hall with the height and floor area to carry it. Solid wood is the paler, more Scandinavian finish; chestnut is darker and richer and holds its own against strong colours and older timber. In both, the arms radiate at genuinely different angles so the piece reads as three-dimensional from every side rather than collapsing into a flat circle when seen from below.

Wood is a natural material, so grain and tone vary between arms and between pieces, and no two chandeliers are identical. Bulbs are not included; use bulbs that run cool, keep them clear of the timber and do not fit high-wattage bulbs. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the full weight, which is significant in the 72 cm version.
