A finely woven natural rattan shade over a frosted glass diffuser, with brass detailing at the fixing. It is a more considered piece than most rattan pendants, and the diffuser is the reason: where an open woven shade throws light and shadow everywhere, this one gives you the texture of the rattan and a soft, controlled light underneath it.
That combination makes it usable where a plain woven shade is not. Over a dining table it lights the surface evenly without the busy shadow pattern that can be distracting at a meal; over a kitchen island it gives usable working light rather than atmosphere alone. The fine weave reads as neat rather than rustic, and the brass detail lifts the whole thing into mid-century territory instead of coastal. Two sizes are offered: 50 cm for a standard dining table or a bedroom, and 60 cm where the fitting needs to hold a larger table or a living room on its own.
Rattan is a natural material, so colour, grain and weave vary between pieces. Brass mellows with age. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the weave. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
