37 cm across and 60 cm tall, which is the classic mid-century table lamp proportion: a wide fabric shade on a slim metal base, tall enough to light a chair beside it and wide enough that the light spreads rather than pooling in one spot. Almost every table lamp of the period used some version of these numbers, and the reason is that they work.
Fabric is what makes the light comfortable. It diffuses completely, so the bulb is invisible and the shade glows evenly, and unlike glass it also lets a good deal of light out through the top, lifting the ceiling as well as the surface below. That upward component is why a fabric shade lights a room and a metal one does not.
Two colours are offered at the same price: white, which is the safe and period-correct choice, and green, which is the one that reads as a deliberate decision. Bulbs are not included, since the shade travels badly with one fitted; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Indoor use.
