The largest piece in the origami bird family: eight luminous birds perched along an intricate gold branch structure, arranged so the flock spreads across the ceiling rather than clustering at one point. Where the smaller fittings in this range are accents, this one is unmistakably the centrepiece of whatever room it hangs in.
The birds are acrylic, which is what allows them to be lit from within rather than lit from outside. Each one glows softly along its folded facets, so the fitting reads as a group of illuminated forms suspended in air instead of a chandelier with visible bulbs. The branching gold frame separates them at different heights and reaches, which gives the piece depth from every angle and stops it collapsing into a flat circle when seen from below. It belongs over a large dining table, in an open-plan kitchen and living space, or in an entrance hall with the height and floor area to carry it.
Bulbs and light sources are integrated into the birds. Over a table, allow roughly 75 to 85 cm of clearance above the surface. This is a large fitting: installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, the ceiling fixing and the structure above it must be rated for its full weight, and that should be confirmed before any work begins.
