Arms radiate from a central brass hub in every direction, each one ending in a hand-finished opal glass globe, so the fitting has no single front and looks deliberate from wherever you stand. The sputnik form is one of the defining mid-century shapes and it still works because it does something practical: spreading the light sources apart across a wide sphere lights a room evenly instead of dropping it all in one place.
Four configurations are offered, arranged as two tiers. Four plus four is the compact option for a bedroom or a smaller dining room; six plus six and eight plus four both give more spread for a living room or a dining table; and eight plus eight is the full sixteen-globe version for a large room or an entrance hall with the height to take it. The opal glass matters here: it hides the filament entirely and turns each globe into a soft, even ball of light rather than a bright point.
Glass globes are hand-finished, so slight variation between them is normal. Bulbs are not included. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the full weight of the chandelier, which is significant in the larger configurations.
