Lantern Shape Bamboo Cane Pendant

A lantern shape, formed from cane rather than woven into a basket. The distinction matters: cane is worked in longer, straighter lengths, so the shade holds a defined lantern outline with straight sides and a clean shoulder instead of the soft curve a reed weave settles into. It looks more constructed and less rustic as a result, and that is the point of it.

Coastal charm is the obvious reference, but this is the refined version of it rather than the beach-hut one. In a contemporary interior the natural finish supplies warmth and texture while the lantern geometry keeps the fixture disciplined, so it updates a room instantly without dragging a whole seaside theme in behind it. That is a harder balance to strike than it sounds.

Bamboo is fast-growing and renewable, which is a fair part of the appeal alongside the look. The natural finish is left unstained, so the shade will mellow slightly with time and light. Bulb not included; a warm white LED suits the cane. Indoor use only, since bamboo absorbs moisture and will lose its shape in a damp room. Dust it with a dry soft brush.
