Bamboo Wicker Shade, Pendant or Ceiling

One woven bamboo shade offered in six diameters and two mountings, which makes it the most adaptable fitting in the range. Sizes run from 45 cm up to a full metre, and each is available either as a hanging pendant on a drop or as a ceiling lamp fixed close to the ceiling.

That mounting choice is genuinely useful. In a room with a normal or low ceiling, the ceiling version gives you the material and the texture of a woven shade with no drop at all. In a room with height, the pendant version hangs low over a table where the weave can be seen properly. Size follows the room: 45 and 55 cm for a bedroom, a home office or a breakfast bar; 65 and 75 cm over a dining table or a kitchen island; 85 cm and 100 cm for a large open-plan space where the fitting is meant to define the area beneath it. As a rough guide over a table, choose a diameter around half the table's width.

Bamboo is a natural material, so colour, grain and weave vary between pieces. Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs are recommended and the maximum wattage marked on the fitting should not be exceeded. In the larger sizes the ceiling fixing must be rated for the full weight, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
