Airy is the right word for this one. The weave is deliberately open, with visible gaps between the reeds rather than a tight basket surface, so the shade reads as a suggestion of a form rather than as a solid object. In a small kitchen or a low-ceilinged room that matters: an open shade takes up far less visual space than a dense one of the same size.
It is designed to be grouped. Three of these above a dining table or along an island at a matched height give you the scale of a much larger fixture while keeping the ceiling visible between them, which a single large pendant cannot do. The same shade also works alone over a smaller table or in a hallway, where the open weave keeps the space feeling uncrowded.
