Handmade Woven Rope Pendant Shade

Coloured rope coiled and woven by hand into a deep shade, 50 cm across and 43 cm high. Rope in colour is unusual: most woven pendants are left in a natural tone, and dyeing the cord turns what is normally a neutral textural piece into one that carries real colour without needing a pattern or a print.

Four colours are offered. Beige is the quietest and behaves like a natural fibre shade. Grey is cooler and more urban. Blue and pink are the confident choices and work best in a room where the rest of the scheme is plain, letting the fitting supply all the colour. The deep profile is worth noting: at 43 cm high the shade holds the bulb well inside it, so there is very little glare from the side and the light falls in a contained pool below, which suits a dining table or a bedside better than a shallow shade would. Available hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and in-line switch.

Rope is coiled and woven by hand, so texture and the exact tone vary between pieces. Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended, and a bulb that runs cool should be used and kept clear of the rope. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
