Bamboo Pendant Light in Wood or Black

Hand-worked bamboo in a wide, shallow shade, 46 cm across and 25 cm deep, offered in two finishes that change its character completely. The natural wood tone is warm and obviously handmade and belongs in a rustic or coastal room. The black version reads as almost graphic: from a distance it is a dark disc, and the weave only shows when the light is on, which is what makes it work in a modern kitchen with dark cabinetry.

The proportions are the practical part. Wide and shallow is the most useful shape for a room with a standard ceiling, because the shade spreads light across a table or a worktop while staying clear of anyone's line of sight across it. It suits a dining table, a kitchen island, a living room or a large bedroom, and it works in a pair or a row of three over a longer surface. Both finishes are available hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and in-line switch.

Bamboo is a natural material, so colour, grain and weave vary between pieces. Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the weave. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
