A wall sconce built the same way as a stained glass pendant: textured panels cut and set by hand into a geometric arrangement. On a wall rather than a ceiling the effect is different and arguably better, because the light has a surface immediately behind it to work against, and the coloured cast lands where you can actually see it rather than up on the ceiling.
Mounted at head height beside a bed, in a hallway or up a stairwell, it throws warm amber patches onto the wall around it and lights the space without any of it coming from overhead. That is a more restful arrangement in a bedroom or a corridor than a ceiling fixture, and it frees the bedside table entirely for other things.
The panels are textured rather than flat, so the light breaks before the colour reaches it, and no two pieces read identically. The vintage and mid-century references are in the geometry rather than in any applied ornament, which is why it works in a modern room. Indoor use only. Wipe each panel individually with a soft dry cloth, and have the wiring fitted by a qualified electrician.
