A compact hand-woven rattan pendant, sized for the jobs a big statement shade cannot do. At 35 x 32 cm it hangs over a bedside table, a breakfast bar or a narrow hallway without dominating the ceiling, and the 40 x 36 cm version steps up to a small dining table or a kitchen island. The reeds are worked by hand, so the weave has the slight variation that separates a made object from a moulded one.
The open weave is what you are paying for. Light drops cleanly through the base into a defined pool and escapes sideways through the reeds, printing a soft basket pattern on the ceiling and the wall behind. Under a warm bulb the rattan reads honey-gold; under a cool one it turns grey and flat, so a 2700K LED is the right choice. It sits naturally in boho and coastal rooms, and against linen, jute, pale oak and off-white walls.
Both sizes come hardwired or plug-in, so it fits a permanent ceiling rose or a rented room where you would rather not touch the wiring. The fixture is UKCA and UL certified. Bulb not included. Indoor use only: rattan takes up moisture and loses its shape in damp air, so keep it out of bathrooms, utility rooms and covered terraces, and dust it with a dry soft brush rather than a wet cloth.
