Golden Bird Metal Floor Lamp

A slim gold metal stem rising to 165 cm with birds perched along it, each one carrying a small light. It is a floor lamp built as a piece of sculpture: at full height the birds sit above the back of a sofa or an armchair, which is exactly where a reading light should be and where an ordinary floor lamp shade would be in the way.

Three configurations are offered, all at the same 165 cm height. One bird, at 30 cm wide, is the narrowest and slips into a corner or beside a chair where floor space is tight. Two birds at 45 cm gives a wider spread of light and more presence. Three birds at 52 cm is the fullest version and works as the main feature of a living room corner or beside a large sofa. Because each bird carries its own small source, the light is distributed rather than concentrated, so the corner is lit evenly instead of getting one bright spot. The gold finish warms the light and sits well with walnut, brass, deep green and off-white.

Bulbs are not included. Stand the lamp on a level, firm surface where it cannot be knocked over, keep it clear of curtains and other fabrics, and route the cable so it is not a trip hazard. Keep it out of reach of small children and pets, as a tall slim lamp can be pulled over.
