French Vintage Wood and Glass Ceiling Light

Wood and glass in a mid-century French idiom: a warm brown timber frame holding a set of glass shades, close enough to the ceiling to suit a normal room and detailed enough to be worth looking at. The wood is what dates it correctly, giving the fitting the softer, domestic feel of a mid-century interior rather than the harder metal-and-glass look that came later.

Four sizes are offered, with three, five, six or eight heads, which covers most rooms in a house. The three-head version suits a bedroom, a landing or a small dining table; five and six work over a dining table or in a living room; and the eight-head version has the spread for a large living room or an open-plan space. Spreading the source across several shades rather than one gives a softer, more even light with fewer hard shadows, which is exactly what you want in a master bedroom or a room used mainly in the evening.

Made from wood and glass. Direct wired, 110V-240V, E27 bulb base, CE and UL certified. Bulbs are not included. Wood is a natural material and grain varies between pieces. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
