Flower Bud Metal Pendant Light

A small metal shade shaped like a closed flower bud, 23 cm across and 16 cm high, with the rim turning gently inwards. That inward curve is the useful part: it holds the bulb further inside the shade than a straight cone would, so the light is contained and there is very little glare when you look towards it across a room.

Eight finishes are offered: yellow, grey, red, black, white, pink, blue and dark green. The range is wide enough that this becomes a colour decision rather than a fitting decision, and because the shade is small, a strong colour is an accent rather than a commitment. At this size it is designed to be used in numbers. A row of three over a kitchen island or a breakfast bar, a pair over a dining table, or one each side of a bed all work, and mixing two colours from the range in one row is a straightforward way to make a kitchen look considered. Singly it suits a desk, a home office or a hallway.

Bulb is not included. Because the shade is metal and compact, use a bulb that runs cool and do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the fitting. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
