Wooden Pumpkin Farmhouse Pendant Light

Solid wood slats curved and set side by side into a ribbed pumpkin form, so the shade is built from real timber rather than veneered onto a frame. The gaps between the slats are what make it: light escapes between them in vertical bands, and the fitting throws a striped pattern of warm light and shadow onto the ceiling and the walls around it.

Five sizes are offered, from 18 cm up to 50 cm, which is an unusually wide range and makes it one of the most flexible fittings in the range. At 18 cm it is a small accent for a bedside or a hallway, and a row of three or five over a kitchen island is the way it looks best at that size. At 30 and 35 cm it works singly over a breakfast table or in a bedroom. At 42 and 50 cm it becomes the focal point of a dining room or a living room. The farmhouse reading is obvious, but in a plain modern room the same fitting reads simply as warm and natural rather than rustic.

Wood is a natural material, so grain and tone vary between slats and between pieces. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the timber, and do not fit a high-wattage bulb in the smaller sizes. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
