Cream Petal Fabric Pendant Light

The fabric is gathered into overlapping petals around the frame, so the shade has a soft flowering outline rather than a straight edge. It is a decorative shape done with restraint: the colour is a quiet cream, there is no trim and no pattern, and the interest comes entirely from the folds and the shadows they cast on each other.

Two sizes are offered. At 36 by 22 cm it is a bedside or hallway light, and a pair either side of a bed at slightly different drops looks better than two matched at the same height. At 43 by 26 cm it works over a smaller dining table, a breakfast bar or in a living room corner. Both are available hardwired or as a plug-in with a cable and in-line switch. Because the light passes through the gathered fabric as well as out of the bottom, the petals glow from within and the fitting is at its best in a room used in the evening, which is why it suits a bedroom better than a kitchen.

Fabric is gathered by hand, so the fall of the petals varies slightly between pieces. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the fabric, and do not fit a high-wattage bulb. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
