Handmade Rattan Hanging Light Shade
Two sizes, A at 40 x 30 cm and B at 50 x 40 cm, both wider than they are deep. That proportion sits the shade high and spreads its light outward, which is the useful arrangement in a bedroom or a living room where you want the whole space lit rather than one surface picked out. The smaller size also suits a hallway with a normal ceiling.
It is a designed shade rather than a purely traditional one: the weave is handmade in the usual way, but the profile is resolved more carefully than a plain basket, with a clean shoulder at the top and an even taper down to the rim. That is the difference you notice when it is switched off and simply hanging there.
The colour is natural rattan as shown, with no dye applied, so it will mellow slightly with time and light rather than staying exactly as delivered. Bulbs are not included, since a woven shade travels badly with one fitted; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended, and a warm colour temperature suits the fibre. Indoor use only, since rattan absorbs moisture and loses its shape. Dust with a dry soft brush.
