A handwoven rattan lampshade with a pronounced wicker texture, in two closely spaced sizes: 40 x 46 cm and 46 x 51 cm. Both are slightly taller than they are wide, which is the proportion that reads as balanced from below without either flattening out or looking like a tube. It is a deliberately conventional shape, well executed, and there is a case for that over novelty.
The texture is where the character comes from. A wicker weave has more visible surface relief than a fine rattan one, so the shade catches side light during the day and shows real depth, and at night the ridges cast a heavier, more defined shadow. It brings warmth and natural character to a room without any colour being involved at all.
It is at home over a dining table, above a kitchen island, in a living room or in a cafe. Both sizes are available hardwired or plug-in, and both take standard E26 or E27 bulbs, which are easy to find anywhere. Bulb not included; a warm white LED suits the fibre. Indoor use only, since rattan absorbs moisture. Dust with a dry soft brush.
