The name is literal. The shade is a soft, rounded dome only 10 cm deep against diameters of 32 to 46 cm, with the edges falling away in a curve rather than meeting the ceiling at an angle, so from below it genuinely resembles a set panna cotta. That is a strange thing to aim for and it works.
Flush and shallow means it fits under a low ceiling, in a bedroom, a hallway or a small living room, without hanging into the space. The cream finish, in beige or milky white, keeps it warm rather than clinical, which is the usual failing of a plain round flush mount. Beige is the warmer of the two; milky white the more neutral.
Each size comes in a warm light version or a three-colour version that switches between natural, warm and cold light, which is worth the small premium in a room used for more than one thing. The output is soft and even with no visible source and no glare, and the effect is closer to being surrounded by light than lit from a point. Indoor use. Wipe the shade with a soft dry cloth.
