Every size here is a cube of sorts: 40 x 40 cm, 50 x 50 cm and 60 x 60 cm, as tall as they are wide. That equal proportion is the least common one in woven lighting and it gives the fixture a distinctly solid, settled look, closer to a piece of furniture hanging from the ceiling than to a shade draped over a bulb.
It also splits the light evenly. A shallow shade throws it wide and a tall one throws it down; an equal-sided one does both in roughly equal measure, giving a defined pool on the dining table and enough spill to keep the rest of the room comfortably lit. For a dining room used for meals and for sitting afterwards, that is the more practical distribution.
The weave carries an oriental influence that sits easily in country and rustic rooms, and against timber, ceramic and unpainted plaster. All three sizes come hardwired or plug-in. Bulbs are not included, since a woven shade travels badly with one fitted; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Indoor use only; dust dry with a soft brush.
