Handmade glass is not the same as moulded glass, and you can see the difference. The wall thickness varies slightly, there are faint marks where the piece was worked, and the surface is never optically perfect. Under a bulb those irregularities catch light unevenly, which is precisely what gives a handmade shade its warmth and a moulded one its flatness.
Brass is the right fitting for it. Clear glass has no colour of its own, so whatever holds it becomes the only tone in the fixture, and brass supplies warmth where chrome or black would leave it cold. It also ages: brass darkens gently over years, which suits a shade that was made by hand rather than stamped out.
Three sizes are offered, 12 x 21 cm, 14 x 18 cm and 20 x 24 cm, and none of them is large. That suits the uses described: over a dining table, a kitchen table or a coffee table, or as cosy corner lighting in a living room, where a big fixture would be wrong. Bulb not included; a warm white LED suits both the glass and the brass. Indoor use. Wipe the glass and polish the brass with a soft dry cloth.
