Boho Bamboo Coastal Pendant Light

Natural bamboo woven into a wide, shallow shade with the slightly loose, irregular texture that gives boho and coastal rooms their character. This is not a precision-engineered fitting and it is not trying to be: the appeal is in the hand-work, the variation in the weave and the way the light breaks up as it passes through.

Two sizes are offered, 40 by 20 cm and 50 by 25 cm. Both are wide relative to their depth, so they spread light over a table or a seating area while staying clear of head height. The smaller size suits a breakfast bar, a bedroom or a hallway; the larger one has the spread for a dining table or a living room. Hung over a table it becomes the focal point of the room, throwing a broad, soft pattern of woven shadow across the ceiling. Against white walls, linen, rattan furniture and pale timber it does exactly what a coastal room needs, and in a plain modern room it supplies the one natural texture that stops the space feeling hard.

Bamboo is a natural material, so colour, grain and weave vary between pieces and no two shades are identical. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the weave. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
