Boho Bamboo Wicker Hanging Lamp
Bamboo rather than rattan, and the reason it matters here is strength. Bamboo is stiffer and more resistant to bending than rattan reed, so a shade woven from it holds its shape under handling that would distort a softer weave. That is why the same fixture gets specified for hotels and restaurants as often as for homes, where it is cleaned and knocked far more often.
The design itself is classic rather than fashionable: a plain woven form with no decorative rim or applied colour, which is what allows it to sit in a Nordic, minimalist, boho or modern room without argument. Three sizes are offered, 35 x 22 cm, 40 x 28 cm and 50 x 35 cm, all wider than they are deep.
Use the smaller sizes over a breakfast bar or in a run above an island, and the 50 cm over a dining table or in a living room. It is equally at home in a hotel lobby, a cafe or a restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are fitting out a space rather than a room. Bulb not included; a warm white LED brings out the bamboo. Indoor use only, since bamboo absorbs moisture. Dust with a dry soft brush.
