A flush-mount ceiling light rather than a pendant, woven from natural bamboo into a wide, shallow disc that sits tight against the ceiling. The flying-saucer profile is what makes it useful: in a room with a low ceiling, a hallway, or a landing where anything hanging would be in the way, this gives you the woven texture of a pendant with none of the drop.
The bamboo is stained black, which turns a naturally soft material into a hard graphic circle overhead. During the day it reads as a dark disc against a white ceiling; at night the weave lights from within and the gaps between the strands become a fine radial pattern. It is a retro shape, closest to mid-century, and it works better in a plain room than in a busy one.
Two diameters are available, 40 cm for a hallway, small bedroom or landing, and 50 cm for a living room or a wider hall. Bamboo is environmentally sound and light in weight, which keeps the fixing simple. Bulb not included; a warm white LED stops the black from reading as cold. Indoor use only, and dust the weave with a dry soft brush, since dust shows clearly on a dark finish.
