Woven Bamboo Flower Pendant Light

The weave opens outwards in overlapping petals, so the shade reads as a flower rather than a basket. It is a more decorative shape than most woven pendants and it earns that by what it does with light: each petal edge catches the glow and the gaps between them let it through, so the fitting has depth and layering instead of a single flat silhouette.

Three diameters are offered, at 45, 50 and 60 cm. The 45 cm size suits a bedroom, a hallway or a smaller dining table; 50 cm is the everyday choice over a table or an island; and 60 cm has the presence to be the focal point of a living room. Hung low over a dining table the petals sit just above eye level and the room gets a warm, contained pool of light. The bamboo is chosen for its green credentials as much as its look, and the design follows the same idea: a simple natural material, worked by hand, with nothing added to it.

Bamboo is a natural material, so colour, grain and weave vary and each shade is slightly different. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the weave. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
