Small Handmade Bamboo Pendant Shade

A small hand-woven bamboo shade, offered at 18 by 28 cm and 22 by 38 cm, for the places where a large pendant would be wrong. Small fittings are harder to find than big ones and they solve real problems: a narrow hallway, a bedside where a table lamp takes up space you do not have, a compact kitchen, a landing, a reading corner.

Because the shade is compact the light stays close and contained rather than spreading across the whole room, which is what you want beside a bed or above a work surface. The bamboo weave still does its job at this scale, casting a fine pattern of lines onto the wall behind it. These also work well in multiples: three of the smaller size in a row over a breakfast bar, or a pair either side of a bed at different drops, costs less than one large fitting and gives the room more to look at. Each shade is woven by hand, so the pattern is never quite identical from one to the next.

Bamboo is a natural material and colour, grain and weave vary. Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Use a bulb that runs cool, as the shade is small and sits close to the source. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
